Dates & Deadlines for International Students

In general, our deadlines for international students are the same as those for domestic students based on applicant type. Paying attention to deadlines is key in the submission of a complete application.

For first-year applicants, Penn State only has one big deadline to remember – our Early Action Deadline is November 1.

After November 1, Penn State reviews applications on a rolling basis, and options will become more competitive for admission, particularly at the University Park campus. Additionally, there are some programs that have limited enrollment and specific application dates.

To meet the application deadlines outlined below, submit a complete application by the provided date.

Some of our programs have deadlines prior to February 1, including applications for the Schreyer Honors College. You can review the Dates & Deadlines for First-Year Students for further details.

Some of Penn State’s programs are not available for spring admission. Additionally, spring admission is limited at the University Park campus, so apply early for your best chance of admission.

Transfer Information International Students

Transfer applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis, but we encourage students to apply by the deadlines for their intended session.

Some academic programs have limited enrollment, specific application dates, or other requirements. Refer to the Dates & Deadlines for Transfer Students for more information.

Final Application Deadline Information for International Students

Due to the timeline for visa processing, both first-year and transfer international students have final application deadlines where we cannot continue to admit students for the upcoming term.
