Grants

Information and resources for Federal, State-funded, and institutional grants.

Grant Funding

Grants are money to help pay for college and they typically do not have to be repaid. Most grants are funded by the federal or state government.

Certain scenarios may require that a portion or all of the grant funds be repaid: for example, if you withdraw from school before finishing an enrollment period such as a semester, or if you receive a TEACH Grant and do not complete your service obligation.

Penn State Academic Grant

Penn State Academic Grants are funded by the University and awarded to undergraduate students with demonstrated high financial need.

Eligibility

  • Meet Federal and Penn State Financial Aid Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time (12 credits) in a degree program

  • Must have at least a 2.0 GPA

  • Be working on first bachelor's degree

All students are considered for this at the time of awarding. Due to limited funding, not all students who are eligible will receive this award. Amount is evaluated and determined every academic year.
