Admissions Strategic Partnerships

We seek to create a diverse student body through exposure to higher education opportunities at Penn State and beyond.

We are vibrant outreach hubs spanning Pennsylvania, engaging diverse communities of prospective students and families in a variety of campus and community events that increase college-access awareness for prospective students. We serve as a liaison to other Penn State offices, including the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity.

Bus Trips

Bus trips allow us to reach students across Pennsylvania and surrounding states with the ideal opportunity to experience Penn State firsthand in safe and secure environments.

Penn State Achievers recognizes students who are offered admission to the University Park campus, showcasing the breadth of our multicultural student organizations and dynamic student life. Admitted students begin building their social and academic networks with each other, faculty, and staff that continue for years to come. The bus trip includes overnight accommodation in a student residence hall.

Held in conjunction with Penn State's 'Spend a Summer Day' open house at the University Park campus, we host a special diversity-focused bus trip that includes a multicultural program, overnight stay in a student residence hall, and the full open house experience with facility sneak-peeks, student and faculty panels, and information sessions.

'Spend a Fall Day' is specially for prospective students who have applied to Penn State. We host applicants on our fall bus trip to the University Park campus for personalized guidance on the admissions process, financial aid options, and new-student resources to help start their Penn State journey in true Nittany Lion spirit!

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, students enjoy a bus trip to Penn State University Park for a full day of Latino unity while learning about Penn State. The event includes a campus tour, academic information sessions, college readiness presentations, and networking with current student leaders from Latino student organizations.

In honor of Black History Month, students throughout Pennsylvania gather at Penn State University Park to celebrate the significance of African American history and how they can make our University stronger, together. The event includes campus tours and social activities with our multicultural student ambassadors.

Counseling and Workshops

To empower students with the knowledge and tools to prepare for college, our team hosts a variety of counseling services and workshops related to the admission and financial aid processes.

Through individual and group counseling, we discuss best-fit college options including types of colleges, settings, and programs for students to make informed decisions in their exploratory journey. We can also evaluate students' admissibility to Penn State based on their high school academic performance and desired majors.

We demystify the college admission experience in workshops that guide students through the application processes for admission and financial aid. Workshops provide hands-on practice with college admission essays, the Penn State admissions application, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Students can get a firsthand experience of being on a college campus at Penn State, as they participate in mock classes and interact with professors. Each Penn State campus offers unique 'Penn Stater for a Day' experiences.
