DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State Scranton will host its annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration on Tuesday, Jan. 21, with a rousing and inspiring live performance and multimedia presentation by King’s Dream.
The event, beginning at noon in the Study Learning Center, will honor King’s legacy through music, narration and film footage highlighting key moments from the civil rights movement. The celebration will also feature the presentation of the campus' Excellence in Diversity Awards, which recognizes individuals and organizations committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. There is one award given to a member of Penn State Scranton's campus community, and another given to a member of the local community who exemplifies DEI principles and service to the community.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
