UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team will host in-person events at the University Park campus as part of national Lab Safety Week, Feb. 12-16, an initiative of CSHEMA, the Campus Safety, Health and Environmental Management Association, to promote laboratory health and safety programs on college campuses.
Penn State researchers from any college, department or campus are invited to attend the following events. Reservations are not required and light refreshments will be provided.
Get to Know Lab and Research Safety — an opportunity for researchers to provide in-person feedback and ask EHS staff questions on a range of topics, including the Lab Coat initiative, LionSafe, risk assessments, inspection processes and more.
- Tuesday, Feb. 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Willaman Gateway (bridge between Life Sciences and Chemistry buildings)
- Wednesday, Feb. 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Millennium Science Complex, 3rd floor Commons Area
EHS Training Lab Open House — EHS welcomes the research community to visit its new on-site training lab where aspects of chemical, biological, radiological and fire safety will be demonstrated in upcoming classes.
- Thursday, Feb. 15, noon to 3 p.m., Steam Services Building, rooms 212 A&B.
Additionally, EHS has released two new videos to promote lab safety at Penn State.
