UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This fall, the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence (SITE) will host conversations with Penn State experts about topics that are top of mind for many faculty members and academic administrators.

Talking about the Midsemester Student Educational Experience Questionnaire (MSEEQ)

Paul Frisch, assistant teaching professor of history at Penn State Scranton, and Deena Levy, associate research professor at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, will discuss how instructors can respond to Midsemester Student Educational Experience Questionnaire (MSEEQ) results. The session will be moderated by Angela Linse, associate dean and executive director of SITE.
Talking about Free Speech and Academic Freedom in Courses
12:30-1:15 p.m. Oct. 4
Sarah Helmick, associate general counsel; Tamla Lewis, associate general counsel; and Danny Shaha, assistant vice president for Student Affairs, will answer questions faculty have about free speech and academic freedom in their courses. The session will be moderated by Angela Linse, associate dean and executive director of SITE.
Talking about Teaching During Presidential Elections
12:15-1 p.m. Oct. 16
Mary Ann Tobin and Beate Brunow, SITE instructional consultants, will talk with representatives from Counseling and Psychological Services, the University Faculty Senate and PSU Votes for a roundtable discussion on this topic. Panelists will address questions and concerns submitted to an anonymous questionnaire available through Oct. 4.
