ABINGTON, Pa. — Penn State Abington ranks at No. 17 among Regional (North) public universities and No. 24 among Top Performers for Social Mobility listed in U.S. News & World Report’s 'Best Colleges' ranking for 2025, released Sept. 24. “Rankings from U.S. News & World Report are one measure that demonstrate our success in providing opportunities for students from across the commonwealth. I’m especially gratified that our work to support first-generation students and those from diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds has been recognized in the social mobility category,” Abington Chancellor Gary Liguori said.
"The quality of a Penn State Abington education remains strong, and we continue to add majors that can be completed at our campus," he added. "Our reputation and unparalleled alumni base opens doors for students as they launch their careers. We remain committed to excellence and providing access to a world-class education for all qualified Pennsylvanians."
U.S. News defines regional colleges as those that focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than 50% of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. Some regional colleges award two-year associate degrees as well as bachelor's degrees. They are ranked in four geographical regions: North, South, Midwest, and West. The North region spans states from Maine to Maryland.
