UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The academic achievements of the newest group of Penn State graduates will be celebrated during the University’s commencement ceremonies on Dec. 22, with more than 1,300 Penn State World Campus students graduating at the end of the fall 2024 semester. Each semester, Penn State World Campus students can request to attend an in-person commencement ceremony at a campus and graduate with their fellow Penn State students.

The big picture

The fall graduates of the Penn State World Campus Class of 2024 include 1,311 students who will earn degrees in 98 different programs of the more than 200 programs offered online.

One student will receive both an undergraduate and graduate degree. Students hail from 47 states, 20 different countries and range in age from 17 to 70. The fall Class of 2024 also includes 204 people with a military affiliation.

Student marshal

A Penn State World Campus student will also represent a Penn State academic college as its student marshal during commencement. Student marshals are selected for their outstanding academic achievement.

Jillian Lesikar will lead the graduates of the Penn State College of Health and Human Development. Lesikar is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies program. She is a member of Pi Delta Chi Honor Society and serves in the Online Students of Psychology Research Laboratory. Outside of school, Lesikar is a mother of two and military spouse. She hopes to attend medical school.
