UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) at University Park will host a Safety Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in front of the HUB-Robeson Center on Pollock Road.

In addition to the UPPS Patrol Division, the event will feature some of UPPS’s many specialized departments, including Emergency Management, Physical Security, Behavioral Threat Management, the Bomb and Tactical Response Team units, the Drone and K9 units, and more. Numerous emergency vehicles will be on display, and the department will be joined by outside first responder groups like Alpha Fire and EMS.

“This event provides a great opportunity for Penn State students and employees to get to know their University Park campus police officers, administrators and staff,” said Wesley Sheets, chief of University Police and Public Safety. “All are encouraged to stop by and learn more about UPPS and the programs and services the department offers to keep our communities safe.”

UPPS’s human resource partners and student auxiliary officers also will be on hand to share information about the department’s work and the critical role it serves within the University, as well as information on open police officer and student auxiliary officer positions available now within the department.
