      Partial reopening of Eisenhower Deck scheduled for Aug. 5

      UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Approximately 670 parking spaces at the Eisenhower Deck will reopen for use beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

      The partial reopening comes after the successful reconstruction of a section of the parking deck that was damaged in August 2023.

      Eisenhower Deck reopening information for Yellow F permit holders 

      Effective Aug. 5, all summer supplementary parking permits issued to Yellow F permit holders will expire, and access to the East Deck, Yellow H, and Lot 42 will no longer be available.

      The remaining 300 spaces at Eisenhower Deck and the Yellow F surface parking lot are expected to reopen before the end of September, pending construction or weather delays. Until that time, designated overflow parking will be needed. Due to student arrival and the return of student parking to the core of campus student lots, overflow parking will change several times between Aug. 5 and the full reopening of the deck, as outlined below:

      • Monday, Aug. 5 – Sunday, Aug. 18

        • Lot 81
      • Monday, Aug. 19 – Sunday, Aug. 25
        • Orange and Commuter lots
      • Monday, Aug. 26 – TBD
        • Yellow H

      Note: While Eisenhower Deck will remain closed until Monday, Aug. 5, Lot 81 is available to Yellow F permit holders as of Thursday, July 25, in addition to their currently assigned summer supplementary parking area.

      As the deck reopens and work concludes over the next several months, traffic patterns and available space in the deck will change. Transportation Services will share information on these changes when available, and drivers are urged to travel slowly through the deck and follow all posted signage.

      Transportation Services Office and Eisenhower visitor lot reopening

      The Transportation Services Office at Eisenhower Deck will also reopen Monday, Aug. 5. The temporary office at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office will close at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, with no office hours available Thursday, Aug. 1 and Friday, Aug. 2.

      In addition, the Eisenhower Visitor lot located between Eisenhower Deck and Eisenhower Auditorium will reopen Aug. 5, and the reserved spaces for University Pharmacy use will return to their previous temporary location on level one of the deck on the east wall facing University Health Services.
