UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Teaching and Learning with Technology, part of Penn State University Libraries, has announced that the virtual Symposium Lite will return the week after the in-person TLT Symposium from 1-4 p.m. on March 27.
The half-day event will feature four pre-recorded or live faculty presentations followed by facilitated discussions with presenters. The presentations will be highlights from the TLT Symposium, allowing participants to continue their exploration of how technology can enhance teaching and learning.
“Symposium Lite extends the energy and innovation of our in-person event to an online audience. This virtual gathering offers insightful presentations and dynamic discussions, ensuring that you can connect, learn and explore new ideas from anywhere,” said TLT Senior Director Crystal Ramsay.
Symposium Lite registration is now open.
The sessions include:

1-1:45 p.m.: “Just a Spark: AI Generated Imagery for Engagement and Reflection,” presented by Mary Ann Smith, lecturer, biology, Penn State Schuylkill (pre-recorded with live presenter discussion).

1:45-2:30 p.m.: “AI as TA: Streamlining Course Development and Brainstorming Engagement Activities,” presented by Stephanie Thomas, assistant teaching professor, Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications (live presentation).

2:30-3:15 p.m.: “AI Tools for Accessibility: ASR, Image Recognition, ChatGPT and Beyond” presented by IT Accessibility Consultants Elizabeth Pyatt, Michelle McManus and Natalie Harrison (live presentation).

3:15-4 p.m.: "Introducing the Puppy Pack: Building an AI Literacy Mastery Path for Your Course,” presented by Tiffany Petricini, associate teaching professor of communication, Penn State Behrend, and Lee Ann Dickerson, instructional designer, Penn State Behrend (live presentation).
