UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Libraries is now accepting nominations through Friday, Oct. 18, for its 2025 Teaching and Learning with Technology Impact Award. Any full-time Penn State undergraduate faculty member with a demonstrated history of transforming education through long-term, innovative use of technology is eligible for nomination.

All full-time Penn State undergraduate faculty instructors, regardless of tenure or term status, are encouraged to apply. Of particular interest are full-time faculty who have developed projects, courses, collaborations or scholarship with innovative educational or instructional technology that have the potential to significantly improve teaching, learning and scholarship at Penn State and beyond.

The nomination form includes complete details on eligibility, evaluation and selection criteria. Self-nominations are welcome, as are nominations from any faculty, staff or student. No connection with Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology, now part of the University Libraries, is necessary for a nominee’s consideration.

Anna Divinsky, assistant teaching professor of art in the College of Arts and Architecture in the Office of Digital Learning, received the 2024 Impact Award for spearheading innovative uses of technology to increase inclusive access, student engagement and feedback on her teaching practices. In 2013 she created Penn State’s inaugural Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC, titled “Introduction to Art,” which reached 50,000 virtual learners worldwide.

Finalists will be invited to submit a packet of material to the selection committee in early 2025. The 2025 recipient, selected by the committee, will receive $3,000, a commemorative medal, an invitation to serve as a Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology ambassador and additional support to extend the impact of their work.
