UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Just a few clues and keywords will describe wrapped books during the University Libraries’ “Blind Date with a Book,” happening Feb. 1-28. Shelves in Pattee Library's Franklin Atrium, on Penn State’s University Park campus, will be filled with both fiction and nonfiction books in a variety of genres available for students to check out for a reading date.
“'Blind Date with a Book' gives readers a great way to try something they never would have chosen otherwise, and that’s exactly where the fun is in the event,” said Megan Gilpin, outreach coordinator for University Libraries’ Library Learning Services.
A variety of titles are available, but books may not be unwrapped until after they are checked out at the lending services desk. Readers are encouraged to provide feedback about their “book date” on Twitter at @psulibs.
Persons with disabilities who anticipate needing accommodations or who have questions about physical access may contact Megan Gilpin at mcg13@psu.edu or 814-867-0069.
