UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In response to student feedback, Transportation Services is expanding Penn State Ride Smart by Lyft program access to 2 to 7 a.m., seven nights a week.

The program expansion will provide more consistently available service to University Park students who need rides back to campus from downtown State College and select surrounding neighborhoods.

This change is effective immediately and the program will continue to service the areas listed below:

  • Pick up service area — off campus between College Avenue, University Drive, Bellaire Avenue, Hamilton Avenue and Buckhout Street.
  • Drop off service area — on campus between Park Avenue, University Drive, College Avenue, and White Course Apartments.

Students will continue to receive eight $10 ride credits per month through May, when the program ends for the current academic year.

Those who have not yet signed up for the program can follow the directions provided in Lyft’s program enrollment email sent to all University Park students on Monday, March 13. Students may also enter the code PSURIDESMART in the app’s Lyft pass section in the "Payment" tab to have the current month’s credits added to the student’s account.
