UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Career Services will host a resume review from 2-5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, at the Bank of America Career Services Building at University Park. Students can drop in without an appointment to meet with a career counselor.

The resume review session allows students to connect with Career Services staff to receive an analysis and tailored suggestions and recommendations regarding content, formatting, language and more.

"Employers review hundreds of resumes for one position. We can help you stand out and catch things that are easy to miss on your own," said Ashley Citatrella, associate director for operations, programs and events at Career Services. "We engage with employers daily and provide advice personalized not only to you but also to employers in the industry that interests you."

As the fall recruiting season kicks into full swing, a strong resume becomes crucial in building confidence and effectively communicating strengths, skills, interests and experiences, according to Sheryl Scott, a career counselor at Career Services.

"Our annual resume review event offers students a great opportunity to ensure their resumes are as strong as possible as they head into Fall Career Day. We want every Penn State student to have a resume they are proud to show to recruiters," Scott said.

Fall Career Days will take place at the Bryce Jordan Center from Sept. 12 to 15 and virtually on Sept. 28. more than 500 employers will attend the annual recruiting event, and students are encouraged to bring several copies of their reviewed resumes.
