UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students are invited to submit nominations for the 2025 Service and Leadership Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the University and surrounding communities. The nomination window is open from Feb. 14 through March 14.
The Service and Leadership Awards honor students and student organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to community engagement, leadership, and service. These awards highlight the impact of student initiatives that foster positive change and uphold the Penn State Values.
Students may nominate individuals or groups for various awards, including the Charles and Sharon Bell Scholarship for Citizenship and Leadership, the Laurel Award for Outstanding Service, and the Partisan Award, among others. Each award has specific criteria, including leadership in student organizations, community service, and advocacy efforts.
Letters of recommendation are received in support of each student self-submission. Faculty and staff, while unable to directly nominate a student, are encouraged to recommend that qualifying students apply.
“The Service and Leadership Awards celebrate the remarkable efforts of Penn State students who lead by example and inspire others through their dedication to service,” said Lisa Kerchinski, assistant director of leadership and service in Student Leadership and Involvement, a unit in the division of Student Affairs. “These students embody the values that make Penn State a community committed to excellence and impact.”
Nominations must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on March 14. The nomination process includes a brief description of the nominee’s contributions and supporting materials that showcase their impact.
Award recipients will be recognized at the annual Service and Leadership Awards ceremony in April. For more information and to submit a nomination, visit the nomination website.
