UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State employees who are insured under the Penn State Highmark employee health plan are eligible to schedule their annual flu vaccine at the University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy.

Employees and eligible dependents 18 and older can schedule online or by calling the UHS Pharmacy at 814-865-4847, option 1.

The flu vaccine is covered 100% with no co-pay or deductible under Highmark health care plans and can be obtained at most in-network pharmacies, including the UHS Pharmacy. For more information about in-network providers, visit the Highmark website

Both existing and new UHS Pharmacy customers will need their insurance card upon arrival for their vaccination. Employees and their dependents age 65 and older also are eligible to schedule a high dose flu vaccine on request.

Parking is available inside the Eisenhower parking deck in the designated pharmacy spaces on the ground level.

Those not insured by the University’s Highmark insurance plans can schedule flu vaccination through their insurance or government-based entities like the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Employees can find additional vaccination locations online.

Cold and flu season is here, and employees are encouraged to prioritize their personal health and hygiene routines. Scheduling a flu shot at the UHS Pharmacy, talking to your health care provider about other preventive vaccines for common illnesses like COVID-19, and washing hands frequently and staying home while ill are all precautions employees can take to keep the Penn State community healthy.
