UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — With Election Day taking place tomorrow, Penn State encourages the community to be active citizens and engage in the democratic process. Casting a ballot ensures that your voice is heard and that our collective society has a say in the future of our communities.

PSU Votes, the trusted University resource, has provided important guidelines to help voters prepare before heading to the polls. Voters are encouraged to plan and review the necessary details for a smooth voting experience:

  • Find Your Polling Location: Confirm your polling place by visiting psuvotes.psu.edu

  • Bring Valid ID: Pennsylvania voters may need to present identification at the polls. A list of acceptable forms of ID is available on PSUVotes.psu.edu

  • Review Your Ballot: To save time at the polls, review a sample ballot to familiarize yourself with the candidates and referenda. Take notes and have them available when you vote.

  • Head to vote early: Polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters are encouraged to arrive early to avoid any delays. If you are in line when the polls close you can still cast your ballot.

Voting and the critical processes that follow can sometimes be a source of stress, especially when results are not able to be immediately shared or verified. After voting, community members are encouraged to take time to focus on their mental health and well-being. Activities such as taking a walk, spending time with friends, or practicing mindfulness exercises can help ease stress and promote a sense of calm.

A curated list of resources for managing post-election stressors and staying actively engaged in the community beyond Election Day can be found online with PSU Votes. Regardless of the outcome, we are all a part of this community and need to stay actively and positively engaged for the betterment of all.

Voting is just one way for the Penn State community to engage and contribute to the nation. Penn State is proud of all who are taking part in this crucial process and being active members of society.
