UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of Student Activities, a unit of Student Affairs, is currently accepting nominations for the Student Service and Leadership Awards, which recognize individual students and organizations for their outstanding leadership and service to Penn State. Student leaders and organizations may be nominated by members of the University community or individuals may self-nominate and apply for these awards.
Every spring semester, the Office of Student Activities holds a ceremony in April to present these awards and scholarships to students who have been valuable contributors in the areas of service and leadership while at Penn State.
Applications and nominations for these awards are open until 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 20. A full listing of the awards and a link to the nomination form can be found on the Student Activities webpage.
The 13 awards each has different eligibility requirements that nominees must meet, including factors such as GPA, campus location and financial need. Nominated students should show a commitment to service and leadership within the Penn State or surrounding community. For instance, some awards are open to students who have held a leadership position in a student organization while others are geared toward those who have made valuable contributions through service and volunteerism, such as becoming an Eagle Scout or Gold Scout.
