Winter storm closes campuses, forces Midnight Clear

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A winter storm expected to begin Monday evening has forced class cancellations and delays at a number of Penn State campuses, as well as a Midnight Clear declaration for tonight (March 14) at University Park campus.

MIDNIGHT CLEAR: A Midnight Clear was been declared at the University Park campus for Monday night and tonight (March 14).

NO HERSHEY SHUTTLE SERVICE: Shuttle service between the University Park campus and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is canceled for today (March 14).

CLASSES CANCELED: A number of Penn State campuses, including Penn State Abington, Altoona, Berks, Brandywine, DuBois, Great Valley, Harrisburg, Hazleton, Lehigh Valley, Mont Alto, Schuylkill, University Park, Wilkes-Barre, Worthington-Scranton and York, are closed today (March 14). Classes are canceled at the College of Medicine at Penn State Hershey. The Pennsylvania College of Technology has also canceled classes.

DELAYS: Penn State Fayette, Greater Allegheny, New Kensington, Shenango are operating on a two-hour delay.

UNIVERSITY FACULTY SENATE: The University Faculty Senate meeting schedule for 1:30 p.m. today has been postponed.

PENN STATE FORUM: The Penn State Forum event featuring Julissa Acre, an immigration and education advocate, for today (March 14) has been canceled. Tickets for the event will be automatically credited for a future Penn State Forum event. Ticket holders may request a refund through the id+ Office at 814-865-7590 or idcard@psu.edu.

PENNTAP RESCHEDULED: The Pennsylvania Technical Technical Assistance Program workshop scheduled for March 14 (today) at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center has been rescheduled for March 27.

TEPLITZ VISIT POSTPONED: The Commission for Women has announced that Randi Blackman Teplitz's March 15 visit to University Park has been postponed.

Individuals are also encouraged to check the status of any event scheduled for March 14 before traveling.
