Wilkes to Penn State staff: 'We could not do what we do without you'

As the year comes to a close, Jennifer Wilkes, vice president for Human Resources, has shared a message of gratitude with Penn State staff.

--

Hello everyone,

As we near the end of the year, I want to offer a heartfelt “thank you” to every Penn State staff member.

Every day, Penn State’s staff are on the front lines of our academic, research and land-grant missions across the commonwealth. Everything we accomplish as a University, we accomplish through the dedication and tireless efforts of Penn State’s amazing staff members.

Every single Penn State staff member — in every position, within every office and at every campus location — is an absolutely critical part of Penn State’s operations.

Each and every day, our staff is helping to:

  • Implement and run the world-class programs for which Penn State is known around the world;

  • Advise and support our students to help them grow and thrive in their academic careers;

  • Support our faculty in their teaching, research and service;

  • Make sure that classes and technology run smoothly across every campus location;

  • Reach the populations across the commonwealth and beyond who benefit from Penn State’s outreach and service programs;

  • Provide nutritious food to our students and campus communities to nourish them as they pursue their work;

  • Assist our students personally as they acclimate to our campuses, and as they need guidance to find their unique path;

  • Make our campuses clean and beautiful destinations for education and culture for our students, friends and neighbors;

  • And so much more!

We are able to make the positive impact that Penn State has on the world through you and your belief in our community, our values and our mission. Simply put, we could not do what we do without you. Your work is recognized, impactful and appreciated. Thank you for everything you do, every day.

With great gratitude,

Jennifer Wilkes
Penn State vice president for Human Resources
