A look at the week's top stories from across Penn State:

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS: Thirteen standout Penn Staters were named winners of the Alumni Achievement Award from the Penn State Alumni Association.

CLASS GIFT: Penn State's Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, and the 2016 Class Gift Committee have determined that the first year of funding from the CAPS Endowment, the 2016 class gift, will provide resources to support the Embedded Counselor Program, established with a gift from Rodney and Michele "Mitch" Kirsch. The extra support from the endowment will allow students extended access to a counselor.

PARENTAL STRESS: Parenting a child with an illness or physical disability can be stressful, but a child's behavior can also affect the physical and mental well-being of parents in low-income and racially diverse families, according to Penn State research.

HEALTH CARE: In an effort to assist University employees and their dependents, Penn State Health Care Partners is starting a program to provide free care managers, as well as helping employees with chronic disease management.

NEW ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT: Penn State's Faculty Senate approved a detailed implementation plan for the new integrative studies requirement in General Education, which will impact first-year students beginning in summer and fall 2018. The new requirements are meant to broaden students' understanding of how information and material from different fields can be tied together.

WALK FOR LIFE: Former Penn State Altoona Homecoming King Jared Reichbaum walked more than 2,700 miles from Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Reno, Nevada, to raise awareness for bone marrow donation.
