This week's top stories from across Penn State:

INVENT PENN STATE: The University and the Invent Penn State initiative celebrated a $1 million grant on Jan. 22 from PNC Bank to support Happy Valley LaunchBox.

$3.6M CYBERSECURITY GRANT: Across all sectors and industry, including the government and military, legacy software remains critically important, but increasingly difficult, to maintain. A new grant to support reverse engineering software has been received by faculty in the College of Information Sciences and Technology.

WOLF VISIT: Gov. Tom Wolf stopped by Penn State Schuylkill's LionLaunch Innovation Hub, an incubation space meant to foster small business and entrepreneurial growth throughout Schuylkill County.

DISTINGUISHED FACULTY: Fifteen individuals were recently named as distinguished faculty.

BAY WATCH: The warming climate is expected to affect coastal regions worldwide as glaciers and ice sheets melt, raising sea level globally. For the first time, an international team has found evidence of how sea-level rise already is affecting high and low tides in both the Chesapeake and Delaware bays.

OPIOID SUMMIT: Coming on the heels of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf's declaration of the opioid crisis as a disaster emergency, Penn State recently held its first University-wide summit on the opioid epidemic.
