Veterans Day message, events for the Penn State community

Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi shares message with the community on Veterans Day; annual Military Appreciation events planned

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In a video message to the Penn State community, President Bendapudi shares a message of gratitude for veterans, service members and military families on Veterans Day.  

“On this special day we join together to honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans and service members, including many staff, faculty and students in our own community,” Bendapudi said. “I hope you will all join me in recognizing these incredible members of Penn State.” 

In honor of Veterans Day, Penn Staters and local community members are invited to attend today’s (Nov. 11) events

  • Military Appreciation Breakfast from 9-11 a.m. in Alumni Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. Students, faculty and staff who currently serve or have served in the armed forces are invited to attend the breakfast, which will feature light refreshments, entertainment and networking. Walk-ins are welcome!  

  • Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:11 a.m. to noon on the steps of Old Main at University Park and online (in the event of inclement weather the event will take place in Alumni Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center). The annual event, which is open to the public, is hosted by the Penn State Student Veterans Organization. The event also will be livestreamed at watch.psu.edu/MAW.
