UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As employees of Penn State, faculty and staff receive many fringe benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and tuition discounts. However, being a member of the Penn State family also entitles employees to many other perks.
“The are a lot of discounts that employees can receive through the Penn State Discounts program,” said Megan Houser, human resources consultant for the College of Education. “Many local merchants offer discounts when you show your id+ card and employees also can receive discounts on tickets to theme parks such as Hershey Park, Cedar Point and even Disney World.”
The program includes discounts on a variety of goods and services ranging from automotive and apparel to legal services services and gym memberships.
“Another great feature of the program is the discount portals,” Houser said. “The portals connect the Penn State community to hundreds of online merchants and discount deals that are constantly being updated.”
Some of the discount portals also are available to students, alumni and retirees, regardless of which campus they attended or worked for, including Penn State World Campus, Houser said.
“All you have to do is set up an account,” she said.
