Terri Parker provided the singing of the Black National Anthem to kick off a full day of festivities at the 5th annual Juneteenth celebration and block party in downtown State College.. The annual event honors the importance of June 19th, 1865 in American History which marks when the last enslaved African Americans in the rebelling states were notified that the Emancipation Proclamation would be enforced, announcing their legal freedom.
