UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Smeal College of Business has announced the recipients of the 2023 Faculty Teaching Awards.

Award recipients are chosen after a nomination process that includes a statement of teaching philosophy, two letters of recommendation and SRTEs. The awards committee meets over the summer to review the nominee packets and make recommendations to John and Karen Arnold Dean Charles Whiteman.

In the past three years, more awards have been introduced to recognize excellence in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and online levels, as well as awards for innovation and impact, which are nominated by alumni.

This year, the Teaching Support Award was added to recognize personnel who play an integral role in the classroom.

“We are excited to add the Teaching Support Award this year to recognize the amazing work by members of the Smeal community that greatly enhances our teaching mission but is often behind the scenes,” said Sam Bonsall, Deloitte & Touche Teaching Excellence Professor in Accounting and chair of the Teaching Awards Committee.
