DUNMORE, Pa. — Financial Aid Coordinator/Veterans Certifying Official Stacy Shattuck in Penn State Scranton's admissions department has been named the campus' April Employee of the Month.
In nominating her, the admissions and financial aid team wrote: “Stacy provides excellent service and care to students and their families in her capacity as a financial aid counselor. Her work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills and compassion are a powerful combination that allows her to help students navigate financial aid and vet certification requirements. What makes Stacy's work in this area exceptional is her ability to not only solve problems and eliminate financial barriers to student success, but to use these barriers as an opportunity to build relationships with Scranton students and their families. These relationships and the service Stacy provides help fuel student success and retention, an important University goal.”
The bursar/finance office team stated: "Stacy has always put the students above all else. It is inspiring to work so closely with someone who has the work ethic and passion that she does. You can see that whatever she is tackling, she is doing it with thought, care, a positive attitude and a fierce motivation to get the job done. The bursar and financial aid offices work together very closely, and the effort she has made to help create a cohesive working relationship between us is essential to not only provide a pleasant work environment that benefits us, but especially our students. Stacy also has very strong ties to Penn State, which directly align with everything we stand for at this campus and it shines through with every task she takes on. Congratulations to Stacy from the bursar/finance office!”
Congratulations, Stacy!
Each month, nominations are received in the chancellor's office for employees whose peers feel they have gone above and beyond in their job duties.
The Employee of the Month recognition was initiated in 2016 by Wafa as a way of distinguishing staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Scranton. Campus staff, faculty and students are encouraged to nominate staff members that deserve to be recognized for “going above and beyond.” The link for nominations is available here.
