UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Child Maltreatment Solutions Network is hosting an awareness event, “Preventing Child Neglect,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 4, in the ballroom of the Nittany Lion Inn.

Child maltreatment can take many forms, but the most common cases nationwide are that of child neglect. Throughout the day, speakers will cover topics including the nature of child neglect and how victims experience such abuse, as well as on the components of effective programs and policies that help reduce child neglect rates in Pennsylvania and across the country.

The event is free, and lunch will be provided for attendees. To register, visit the registration page.

The annual awareness event is being sponsored by the Solutions Network and the Human Development and Family Studies Vladimir de Lissovoy Program Support Endowment for the Protection of Children, as well as support provided by Penn State’s Social Science Research Institute.
