WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — A Pennsylvania College of Technology freshman welding student has received two scholarships from a community foundation.

Josiah A. Hinojos, of Groton, Connecticut, is one of 303 recent high school graduates sharing $1.1 million in 2024-25 academic scholarships awarded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.

A graduate of Ella T. Grasso Technical High School, Hinojos received the Skip Thavenet and John Boyle Memorial scholarships. Hinojos is seeking a bachelor’s degree in welding & fabrication engineering technology.
