WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Technology students enrolled in any academic program at the college in the 2025-26 academic year are eligible for annual Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program assistance coordinated by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.

Beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, Grow PA Grant scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may apply for the scholarships beginning March 13 at the PHEAA website.

To be considered for a Grow PA Grant, a student must:

  • File the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Be a resident of Pennsylvania.
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress for Title IV financial aid.
  • Have not earned a bachelor's degree.
  • Be enrolled at least half-time at an approved institution and enrolled in an eligible program of study as determined by PHEAA. (All of Penn College’s academic majors are eligible.)
  • Sign a Master Promissory Note agreeing to repay all funds received if the work requirement is not met, including any potential interest accrued.

A student can receive a Grow PA Grant for a maximum of four academic years. After graduation, students must commit to work in Pennsylvania, within the in-demand occupation, for a number of years equal to the number of years in which they received the grant.

If a student receives a grant, but does not complete the program – or fails to meet other terms of the agreement – the scholarship is converted to a loan and must be repaid.

PHEAA says there are more than 460 eligible programs of study that lead to in-demand occupations in a variety of career fields, such as agriculture, business, education, computer science, STEM, nursing, allied health and criminal justice.

The statute launching the Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program specifies that all of the majors offered by Pennsylvania College of Technology meet the program’s eligibility requirements – the only four-year college or university in Pennsylvania with this provision.

“The Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program provides valuable financial assistance to Penn College students who agree to work within Pennsylvania following graduation,” said President Michael J. Reed. “Our unique, hands-on programs produce graduates who are ready to thrive in a wide range of essential occupations, and we are most grateful that the Legislature recognized this when establishing the criteria for Grow PA. Our ‘tomorrow maker’ graduates develop the skills and leadership abilities to advance Pennsylvania’s workforce – a fact reflected in our 97.7% graduate placement rate and the persistent recruitment efforts made by our many business and industry partners.”
