WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — First Citizens Community Bank has donated $5,000 to Pennsylvania College of Technology to benefit a program enabling high school students to take courses for college credit at no cost.

The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.

FCCB’s EITC donation will benefit the Penn College Dual Enrollmentprogram, which allows academically qualified high school and career technology center students to take tuition-free courses for college credit.

In 2021-22, Penn College Dual Enrollment worked with nearly 60 partners across Pennsylvania, with EITC funds allowing for nearly 1,500 students to earn more than 5,800 Penn College credits.

“FCCB’s dedication to K-12 students exploring college-level coursework and expanding their technical skills is invaluable to our Penn College Dual Enrollment students,” said Elizabeth A. Biddle, senior corporate relations director. “We are thankful for the impact this gift will have on our dual enrollment students, enhancing their learning.”

“FCCB is proud to support the dual enrollment efforts of Penn College and to back hands-on technology education,” said Stephen Guillaume, chief financial officer. “This program helps students learn valuable skills for a strong foundation in a degree at Penn College, and that has a lasting impact on our communities.”

First Citizens Community Bank, which operates 31 offices in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York, has been a financial supporter of Penn College since 1991.
