Three financial literacy webinars offered in July

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In partnership with the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center, PNC Bank is offering a no-cost, summer financial wellness series to Penn State students and employees, featuring three webinars on July 9, 16 and 23. 

From 10-11 a.m. July 9, PNC will present “Preparing for a Financial Emergency.” Attendees can increase their financial peace of mind for unexpected events such as illness, job loss, divorce and natural disasters. Presenters will cover how to incorporate an emergency fund into a budget and strategies for adjusting a budget to weather unexpected events. “Identity Theft” from noon-1 p.m. will cover different types of scams, how thieves can steal personal information and what’s at risk if they do. Presenters will discuss what to do if a person’s identity is compromised and how to repair the damage. Register now for the identity theft webinar at on24.com 

“Credit Scores and Reports” from noon-1 p.m. July 23 will cover how various financial habits affect a person’s ability to get credit cards, car loans, cell service, apartment rentals, home loans, employment and more. The workshop will cover the factors of a credit score, how to repair it, how to improve a score and how to distinguish scams from legitimate vendors when looking for help with credit issues.
