UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Faculty can now apply for two different grants from the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.
Teaching Transformation and Innovation grants give faculty the opportunity to experiment, test or implement a teaching innovation that addresses an important instructional concern.
The Advancing Equity and Inclusion grant program invites projects that have the potential to influence teaching and learning at the scale of the program, department, school, division, college or campus. Projects should address inequities or advance inclusion in teaching and learning.
For both programs, applicants must meet with a Schreyer Institute consultant by April 1 to discuss the initial idea. After the consultation, a brief paragraph of less than 300 words describing the project is due by April 15. Finally, if an applicant’s project is selected, they will be invited by May 15 to submit a full proposal.
Successful proposals will receive funding for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The Schreyer Institute aims to fund as many proposals as possible and requests above $6,000 may be considered, but larger grants are rare.
Faculty of any rank or appointment and staff who teach Penn State students are invited to apply. More information, including award criteria, timelines, and fundable items can be found here.
