UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Judges are still needed for the Undergraduate Exhibition on Research, Inquiry, and Creative Activity, to be held April 10-12. Faculty, emeriti faculty, staff, postdocs and doctoral students trained as researchers are encouraged to volunteer.
Judge sign-ups will be handled through the Symposium platform. Volunteer judges are asked to sign up by noon on April 6, and assignments will be sent by April 7. Instructions on how to sign up for a Symposium account and find the Penn State Undergraduate Exhibition within the platform can be found on the Undergraduate Exhibition page at urfm.psu.edu.
All participants in the 2023 exhibition are required to present their projects virtually. In addition, some also will present in a voluntary in-person component at the HUB-Robeson Center at the University Park campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12. Judges in the virtual format can complete their judging rubrics at their convenience at any time during the exhibition from April 10-12. Judges who are available for the in-person session will need to complete the judging from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 12 in Alumni Hall.
Judges are needed to score posters, presentations and performances across all academic fields. Judges can specify which academic areas they are interested in judging. Students sign up in one of five broad categories: arts and humanities (including visual arts), engineering, health and life sciences, physical sciences, and social and behavioral sciences. Students also may submit Engagement Project Experience posters, nonresearch, for review.
The online portion of the 2023 exhibition will take place in the online platform Symposium. Scoring will take place entirely inside the platform.
Special requests for alternative media for individual entries can be directed to undergrad@psu.edu.
The Undergraduate Exhibition is coordinated by Penn State Undergraduate Education.
