UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students can still apply for several scholarship awards for study in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The following scholarships have internal Penn State application deadlines of March 19:

  • Churchill Scholarship, funds one year of master’s study in select STEM fields at Churchill College, University of Cambridge in the U.K.

  • Rhodes Scholarship, funds one to three years of master’s and/or doctoral study at Oxford in the U.K.

  • Marshall Scholarship, funds one to three years of master’s and/or doctoral study at any university in the U.K.

  • Mitchell Scholarship, funds one year of master’s study in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.

To be considered for nomination, students must email materials to Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring (URFM) at urfm@psu.edu and include a completed application and letters of recommendation by 11:45 p.m. March 19. Assistance in preparing these materials is available through URFM in 321 Boucke Building or through contact by email at the address above. The last day to receive feedback on these materials is two weeks before the deadline.

Applicants will then be notified if they have been selected to move forward with the University nomination process. Penn State’s nominees for each scholarship will receive URFM support in preparing their applications prior to the final submission in the fall 2023 semester.

The Gates Cambridge Scholarship funds one to three years of master’s and/or doctoral study at Cambridge in the U.K. Though there is no internal Penn State selection process, applicants are highly encouraged to work with URFM to prepare written materials before the national deadline in October.
