New alumni license plate now available

A new Penn State Alumni Association license plate is available for alumni members who live in Pennsylvania and nine other East Coast states. The new plate boasts the Penn State shield, the official mark of the University and the Alumni Association. It replaces the cartoonish "Pozniak lion," which is not a registered trademark. In the mid-1980s, the association became the first alumni association to offer vanity license plates. Since that time, more than 14,000 Penn Staters have ordered them. In addition to those in Pennsylvania, alumni living in Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, New York and Delaware can order the special alumni plate. The cost for the new license plates is $72.50, of which $50 is tax deductible and benefits an endowed scholarship that is earmarked for the Alumni Association's two student organizations -- Lion Ambassadors and Blue & White Society. License plates can be ordered only through the Penn State Alumni Association. For more information or to order your plate, visit http://www.alumni.psu.edu/membership/benefits/plates.htm
