Penn State Orthopedics adds new physician to State College practice

Berks County native and 1986 Penn State College of Medicine graduate Roberta L. Millard returns to the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Penn State College of Medicine, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Millard, who specializes in internal medicine and sports medicine, treats patients at Penn State Orthopedics, 1850 East Park Avenue, State College, Pa. She has a particular interest in metabolic bone disease and women's health.

"Dr. Millard's strength of internal medicine will enhance the level of comprehensive treatment provided to University athletes and residents in the State College community," said Wayne Sebastianelli, medical director of Penn State Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Millard graduated from Penn State College of Medicine in 1986. She completed a medical residency at University of Virginia, and then returned to the College of Medicine as chief resident in 1989. From 1989-1992, Millard was assistant professor of medicine in internal medicine. In 1992, Millard relocated to New Hampshire, where she served as staff physician and Intensive Care Unit director of Exeter Hospital until 2004.

Her husband, Michael Milligan, will join the Penn State University history department in August of this year. He currently is a history and economics professor at Philips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire.
