UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Materials Research Institute (MRI) at Penn State is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Rustum and Della Roy Innovation in Materials Research Awards.
These awards celebrate early-career researchers whose work in materials science leads to innovative and unexpected results. These awards were created to honor Rustum and Della Roy for their pioneering research contributions, which led Penn State to national and international prominence in the field of interdisciplinary materials research, and to encourage similar innovation among today's Penn State researchers. Categories include Early-Career Faculty, Non-Tenure Line Research Faculty and Research Staff, Post-Doctoral Scholar and Graduate Student.
Nominations are due by Sept. 17, and winners will be honored at the 2024 Penn State Materials Day reception on Oct.29. For more information and to nominate someone (self-nominations are also accepted), please visit the Roy Awards webpage.
