UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students are invited to design, print and create their own custom T-shirts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub as part of Penn State Welcome Week.

A T-shirt, design assistance, snacks and slushies will all be provided at the event.

Throughout the event, students will learn about ways to get involved with the entrepreneurship ecosystem at Penn State, including student clubs, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ENTI) minor, the Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIENT) major, and Happy Valley LaunchBox powered by PNC Bank. Students who’ve already taken the leap to turn their ideas into reality will also be present to share their startup experiences, showcase their products to attendees, and provide information on joining entrepreneurial clubs and being a part of this growing community.

“Our goal with this event is to get students to explore the opportunities at Penn State for starting a business or just thinking entrepreneurially, regardless of where they end up in their future careers,” said Anne Hoag, director of the Center for Penn State Student Entrepreneurship (CPSSE). “Even if they may not want to start an apparel company, learning the business model is helpful for lots of ideas they may have.”

The event is sponsored by the CPSSE and Happy Valley LaunchBox. Located at 123 S. Burrowes St., the Innovation Hub houses Happy Valley LaunchBox as well OriginLabs, a rapid prototyping and fabrication lab, event spaces and collaboration areas designed to accelerate innovation.
