UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Teaching and Learning with Technology will welcome one expert from an outside institution each semester to share their knowledge on higher education topics as part of the brand new Dreamery Speaker Series.
The first speaker will be Tanya Joosten. She is the director of Digital Learning Research and Development at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, executive director of the National Research Center for Distance Education and Technological Advancements, and a pioneer in the field of digital learning.
Joosten will kick off the series with two presentations:
- "Approaching Intentionality: Factors that Influence Student Success," from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 27; a teaching-focused conversation on moving from instinct to intentionality in rethinking instructional practices in courses from onsite to online.
- "Considerations for Equity-Minded Practices, from 9 to 10 a.m. Sept. 28; a learning design-focused conversation about altering practices and designing courses with equity in mind.
Both discussions will take place in person in the Dreamery on the lower level of the Shields Building. A virtual option will be available for attendees located across the Commonwealth.
