UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — IT Alerts are notifications that inform the Penn State community of scheduled maintenance and service degradations, as well as outages to IT service offerings, systems and tools.
To subscribe to IT Alerts, visit the Service Status page. Users can “Subscribe to All” or pick and choose which alerts they would like to be notified of by clicking on the + (plus) or - (minus) symbols. Unit and campus-specific alerts can be found under the “Service Outage” section.
The different types of IT Alerts and their color-coded definitions are:
- Green check mark: means that everything is properly operational
- Orange minus symbol: represents an issue of current degradation
- Red exclamation point: used to demonstrate an outage
- Purple "i": symbolizes planned maintenance
- Blue "plus" sign: showcases the presence of multiple issues
- Yellow exclamation point in a triangle: alerts subscribers of advisories
