Connect to eduroam: Penn State’s Wi-Fi is changing on April 1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Beginning April 1, the Penn State Wireless project is introducing "eduroam" as the primary Wi-Fi on campus and adding a new supplemental network, "psu-personal."

Penn State students, faculty and staff at all campuses are encouraged to connect all devices, including computers, tablets and smartphones, to the eduroam network before the existing psu network is retired on June 30, 2025.

Most TVs, smart speakers and game consoles cannot connect to eduroam. These personal devices should be connected to the new supplemental Wi-Fi network, psu-personal. For students with devices that are currently registered on the roomgear network, these personal devices need to be connected to psu-personal.

For faculty, staff and technical service employees, IT Support teams will collaborate with each unit and provide instructions on how to connect University-provided devices to the eduroam network.

Connect your laptops, computers, tablets, smartphones and University-managed devices to the eduroam network. For TVs, smart speakers and gaming consoles, connect these personal devices to the psu-personal network. All devices must be connected to the eduroam or psu-personal Wi-Fi networks by June 30, 2025. Credit: Penn State IT. All Rights Reserved.

This transition impacts the Penn State community by streamlining the usability and security of wireless services. Please connect your personal devices to the eduroam or psu-personal networks before June 30 to ensure you do not lose connection to the Wi-Fi.
