UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Since 2009, Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) has worked alongside 50 diverse Faculty Fellows on projects at the intersection of pedagogy and technology. The window to apply for the next TLT Faculty Fellows cohort is open, and proposals will be accepted until Friday, April 22.

Faculty Fellows will have two years to develop their projects with TLT. The application process will also occur on a biennial basis going forward. For the 2022-2024 academic years, TLT is seeking faculty proposals for innovative Fellows projects around one of the following categories:

Affordability and Inclusion
Higher education is expensive and often not inclusive. Instructional technologies can help increase access and affordability and support more equitable experiences for students. This theme focuses on integrating inclusive pedagogy via educational technology to create learning environments that provide equitable opportunities for all students.

Physi-digital Space
The lines between physical and digital spaces for learning are blurring. This theme focuses on innovations to help students be successful in these spaces and prepare them to work in dynamic, hybrid workplaces.

Radical Creativity
Supporting student success includes creating learning experiences and incorporating instructional technology tools that cultivate creativity and collaboration in the classroom. Doing so helps students build essential skills, including adaptability and agility, and bolsters a growth mindset. This theme focuses on innovations in digital fluency to prepare students for the careers of tomorrow.

TLT will work with the next Fellows cohort to better understand how educational technology can advance these three areas of innovation. University faculty from any college, discipline or campus are invited to submit their ideas of ways technology can advance engaged learning at Penn State.

Faculty who submit successful proposals will work collaboratively with TLT project teams to combine ideas, innovative spirit and academic expertise to apply emerging technologies to teaching and learning.
