UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Tyler Groh, assistant research professor in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management, has received the 2022 Inspiring Early Career Scientist Award from the American Society of Agronomy’s Environmental Quality Section.

Assistant professor in College of Ag Sciences, Extension gets early career award
This award recognizes professionals who are making outstanding contributions toward sustaining agriculture through environmental quality research, teaching, extension or public service.
Groh, a watershed management specialist with Penn State Extension, was recognized for his research and extension programs that promote the use of riparian buffers to mitigate nutrient pollution and minimize erosion.
The award, which consists of a certificate of recognition and $500, was presented to Groh at the American Society of Agronomy’s International Annual Meeting Nov. 9 in Baltimore, Maryland.
