University begins process for annual salary increase for faculty and staff

Annual salary increases will be reflected in paychecks in September 2024, retroactive to July 1, 2024

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State leaders have indicated that the process to provide an annual salary increase (ASI) to eligible non-union faculty and staff for fiscal year 2023-24 will commence in late July.

The increase in pay will be reflected in eligible employees’ September 2024 paychecks, and increases will be retroactive to July 1, 2024.

“The University’s annual salary increase reflects Penn State’s ongoing commitment to support units in providing competitive salaries to recognize and reward our employees for their hard work,” said Jennifer Wilkes, vice president for Human Resources and chief human resources officer.

In July 2023, the Penn State Board of Trustees approved the 2024-25 budget to award merit-based annual salary increases for employees. Individual salary increases may be higher or lower than the approved 3% as they are awarded based on employee performance, available funding, and unit-specific goals. All faculty and staff members can view the amount of their increase and new salary information by visiting Workday as of Sept. 28.

The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) will follow its internal processes, which will be communicated separately to ARL employees.
