UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Human Resources (HR) is launching a new leadership development program, “Management Concepts.” The new leadership program is the latest addition to the “Leadership Foundations” curriculum that launched in October 2022 and is intended for any University employee with a manager job level.
“We designed this series to be as flexible as possible for our learners, allowing them to complete the courses in a timeframe that fits their schedule, with a focus on the topics that are most relevant for them,” said Christy Helms, senior director for HR Talent Management.
There are three tracks in the new leadership program:
Each of the three tracks consists of five individual courses. Each course is offered three to four times per year, so participants can access the content when it fits their schedule. Participants are encouraged to begin by completing the courses on the Managing Self track first but can move through the tracks and courses in whatever order they prefer.
The Management Concepts curriculum is available to all those in the manager job level. All managers should look for an introductory email in their inbox by Friday, Dec. 8, with instructions to enroll.
