UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's 2024 Benefits Open Enrollment starts, Monday, Nov. 6, and runs through 5 p.m. EST on Friday, Nov. 17. Information on health-care plan designs — which remain the same for 2024 — is available on a dedicated 2024 Benefits Open Enrollment section of the Penn State Human Resources website.
For 2024, most employees will see low increases in monthly contributions as part of the University’s plan to secure the best balance of coverage, services and cost-sharing for all benefits-eligible employees. The increases to employee plan contributions will be the first in six years and have been designed to minimize the impact on most employees while accounting for increasing health care expenses and maintaining Penn State’s commitment to paying 75% of employee health care costs.
Throughout October and November, representatives from the Penn State Human Resources benefits team and Highmark will host live Zoom-based educational webinars to review all benefits options for 2024 and to answer any open enrollment questions employees may have. Individuals who are unable to attend the webinars may also contact the Highmark concierge team with questions about specific coverage and claims at 844-945-5509.
During Benefits Open Enrollment, employees will be able to utilize the Benefits Mentor, a tool available in Workday or the WorkLion portal designed to help employees determine which health care plan may be the best for them and their families. Benefits Mentor uses an employee’s claims history to help calculate which health-care plan option may be best.
Employees with questions, should contact HR Services at 814-865-1473 or submit an inquiry via WorkLion.
