More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease today – and that is expected to skyrocket to 16 million by 2050, according to a report released this week by the Alzheimer’s Foundation. The research also reinforces earlier findings about the prevalence of the illness in women, who have a one in six chance of getting Alzheimer’s disease in their lifetime if they live past age 60.
