MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg will host its 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. commemorative banquet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.
The event's theme — "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" — is based on King’s 1967 book of the same name, which advocated for human rights and a sense of hope.
The banquet aims to increase community engagement between local organizations, businesses and community members; strengthen community bonds; and foster a sense of unity and collective responsibility toward King’s vision of a more just and equitable society.
The event will recognize local community members and feature guest speakers and musical performances by local and student artists.
Registration for the event is now open. Visit the banquet site for more information, or contact Wanda B. Knight, assistant dean for diversity, equity and inclusion at Penn State Harrisburg, at hbgdei@psu.edu.
